Minister launches new website.
Environment Minister Edwin Poots helped to launch the Love Food Hate Waste NI site last week during the EcoShow Live at the King's Hall, Belfast, as part of the Department Of Environment's 'Rethink Waste' campaign.
Commissioned by WRAP (Waste and Resources Action Programme), the site is part of a wider initiative to achieve better waste management in Northern Ireland.
The new site highlights the need to reduce the amount of food we throw away and encourage public participation. Practical tips, advice and recipes are available to help users make the best possible use of their food, and emphasises how reducing waste can help save money - and help the environment. People across NI can add their voice to the campaign and share tips for reducing waste.
The HandsOn Content Management System allows the site team to keep content up to date on an ongoing basis, and also automatically integrates some of the content directly from its UK counterpart, Love Food Hate Waste.
