Silicon Republic scoops ‘Best Technology Website’ prize at the Irish Web Awards.
Siliconrepublic.com has been announced as the 2009 winner of the "Best Technology Website" at the Irish Web Awards. The site is part of the Whitespace Publishing Group, owners of some of the most notable names including Business and Leadership, Gadget Republic and Digital 21.
The website was developed by Tibus in mid 2008, and has rapidly grown into Ireland's top resource for technology news, focusing on green technology and advancements in research.
The functionality built into the Handson content management system has allowed Whitespace to focus on the site's content rather than the process of adding it, thus keeping the content fresh and compelling. The site is hosted upon a dedicated managed server allowing for high traffic levels and an abundance of rich content whilst ensuring that the speed of download is never compromised.
With e-mail updates 3 times a day, RSS feeds, audio interviews and video clips, the site provides a wealth of rich media content for its ever expanding band of loyal readers and has played no small contribution to the recent award.
