Launch of the new Carrickfergus Borough Council website, developed by Tibus
Carrickfergus Borough, a 32 square mile area comprising Greenisland, Carrickfergus and Whitehead, has a population of nearly 40,000 people, with many more commuting through the area daily.
The Council needed a website that put the needs of its citizens first, allowing them to access the information and services they need in a quick, easy, customer-focused way.
Residents in the council area are now able to access a wealth of information on the issues that affect their daily lives; the site also promotes community involvement, local businesses, the environment, and leisure and tourism.
The new website meets all government targets for web accessibility, with the navigation system based on the government standard LGNL.
The new structure enables self-service for Carrickfergus Council citizens, freeing up Council administrative time and increasing the speed with which tasks can be completed for and by citizens. This allows Council resources to be focused more efficiently in other areas requiring direct resource, which ultimately represents better value for the rate-payer.
