How Does the Service Work?

When an e-mail is sent to you, it is automatically scanned by our sophisticated Anti-Virus system. If it is virus free, we will send it on to you as normal. If it is carrying a virus, then we will trap that e-mail before it is relayed to you & your computers. At that time, we will send a note to the sender explaining that their e-mail carried a virus.

We will also send you a note explaining that we have trapped an e-mail virus from that sender. You won't notice any change in your quality-of-service and neither will anyone sending you an e-mail, unless that e-mail has a virus within it. This whole process takes a few seconds to complete.

The service also works for outgoing email too, so you can rest assured that you are not inadvertently transmitting Email viruses to your customers, suppliers and partners.

Our pricing structure is simple and fair. It is based on the number of email accounts you have and is charged on a monthly basis.

A mail server running full Anti-Virus and Anti-Spam systems on a server Dedicated only to your business. We ensure the system is kept up to date with current versions and run the physical server on your behalf.

What about traditional ‘boxed’ Anti-Virus software?

Our Managed Anti-Virus service can happily co-exist with your existing "boxed" software and most clients choose to run both types of Anti-Virus protection.

If you are unwilling to spend on both types of protection, here are some useful points to consider if you are choosing which type of service to invest in:

Our Anti-Virus Service offers you complete peace of mind, with none of the hassle or cost of managing your own Anti-Virus software. Our system will catch any harmful viruses before they get anywhere near your machines
• The ‘window of danger’ (the time between virus release and counter-measure being implemented) is much shorter with a Managed Service than it is with a traditional boxed software solution. We operate our service 24 hours a day, 365 days a year so our level of protection is greater

Setting the Managed Anti-Virus service up

We need you to transfer your Domain Name to us if you use POP Mail. If you use SMTP, we’d strongly recommend you transfer the Domain and mail hosting to Tibus. We can work with your existing Domain Name provider simply pointing your MX Records to us. 

Transferring your service from an existing Anti-Virus provider to Tibus

If you already have Anti-Virus services with another provider and are dissatisfied with their service, moving to Tibus’ service is straightforward. We have a smooth migration path honed over the course of many transfers and we’re happy to complete this work on your behalf. Transferring to Tibus Broadband is simple and straightforward. Many companies are making the change from large general providers to specialist business ISPs and there is an industry process developed specifically for this.

You won’t encounter any downtime and Tibus will make all necessary changes on your behalf. Costs are the same as for an initial connection, but we recommend you select our on-site installation option so that we can project-manage the process on your behalf.

Billing

All services are charged on monthly subscription basis and are subject to a 12-month minimum term. Payment is in advance, normally via Direct Debit or Credit Card. All prices exclude VAT.

Support 

Tibus is proud of its reputation for approachable and knowledgeable support. Our team is highly available (no waiting in a Call Centre queue) and is based in Belfast. We encourage our clients to develop technical relationships with individuals in our team, contacting them through their individual email addresses and phone numbers.

Our Support team members are personally responsible for managing each client query through to completion, no matter which Tibus department is involved. You can be sure that your change will be completed or your question will be answered, both promptly and professionally.   

We offer both unlimited e-mail support (support@tibus.com) and unlimited telephone-based support (028 9033 1122), allowing us to serve our clients in a manner that best suits them. This support is available from 9am to 5.30pm and is included within the service charge.

Individually tailored support packages can also be developed for clients for particularly complex or specific support requirements. Our lead time is typically 1 day.
