RF Concepts first engaged Tibus in 2002 to design and develop its first e-commerce enabled website and order fulfilment system. The primary focus of the website was to enable customers to quickly find products and buy. Customers range from novice users of CCTV kit, to experts and those placing repeat orders. Having achieved good success from the initial website, RF Concepts approached Tibus in 2010 to review and improve the customer journey, navigation, order fulfilment and back office integration. RF Concepts staff needed an efficient and time saving solution. Further developing the SEO traction achieved with the initial build was also an objective. The product pages required crafting to ensure advanced technical information was available, whilst unnecessary clutter was avoided and novice users were not distracted. Through time RF Concepts’ delivery rules had also changed, as had their pricing model and discount management of key accounts. These issues were also up for review and inclusion in the proposed solution and rebuild.
Having reviewed several e-commerce systems, RF concepts chose Tibus to redesign and build the website. Tibus led a thorough design phase which involved creating concepts of the key pages. Customer types were identified and considered during the customer journey planning process. New customers can easily create login accounts and returning customers can view past orders. Key to the home page is the flexibility to promote special offers and chosen categories.
The website is a fully e-commerce enabled hosted solution, with potential to scale up as the business moves more of its transactions online. The complex delivery rules have been successfully implemented in the order fulfilment module of the content manager, allowing back office staff to easily manage deliveries.
Other features of the CMS allow back office staff to place orders by telephone, apply discounts at item or order level and set pricing based on quantity bands. Multi-currency is also facilitated and visitors can set pricing across the entire site to show as Euro or Sterling.
The site has seen growth and enhancements in a number of key areas. Back office staff have achieved a significant saving in time to manage the site content. SEO ranking has significantly improved with the website traffic statistics showing a high number of visits as a result of searching for a specific product name. Since its launch in late 2010, unique visitor numbers have increased month on month. Of primary importance - sales and conversions via the website have grown.
